My January Reset: Simple Skin & Body Treatments To Help You Feel More ‘You’ Again

January can feel heavy.

The “new year, new you” noise starts, everyone’s talking about diets and detoxes, and it’s very easy to look in the mirror and feel like you’re starting the year on the back foot – tired, a bit puffy, skin not behaving, clothes feeling different.

I don’t believe you need a new you.
I believe you deserve to feel more comfortable and confident in the skin and body you already have.

That’s why I’ve created my January Reset – two simple, kind options to help you feel more “you” again, without complicated plans or harsh approaches.

What is the January Reset?

For January, I’ve kept things as simple as possible. You can choose:

  • January Skin Reset – £60

  • January Body Reset – £60

That’s it.
You don’t need to know which machine, peel or product you need – you just choose skin or body, and I do the thinking and planning for you.

So what?
If you’re already overwhelmed and exhausted, the last thing you need is a menu of 20 different treatments. This gives you a clear starting point and a friendly person in your corner.

January Skin Reset – £60

If your skin feels dull, reactive, bumpy or just “not itself” after Christmas, this is for you.

You don’t book a HydroFacial or a BioRePeel. You simply book a January Skin Reset, and together we decide what your skin actually needs on the day.

What happens in your appointment

  1. Consultation & chat
We sit down and talk about your skin, your concerns, your health, hormones, stress levels and current routine. No judgement, no pressure – just an honest conversation about how you’re feeling and what you’d like to change.

  2. Skin scan
I take detailed images of your skin so we can see what’s going on underneath the surface – things like redness, dehydration, pigmentation and congestion. This helps me make sensible choices rather than guessing.

  3. Targeted treatment: HydroFacial or BioRePeel
Based on your scan and our chat, I choose one of two options:

    • HydroFacial – if your skin mainly needs a deep cleanse, hydration and glow. Great for tired, congested, dull skin that needs refreshing without being pushed too hard.

    • BioRePeel – if we need more corrective work for texture, congestion or early signs of ageing, and your skin is ready for it.

You don’t need to decide between them in advance – that’s my job. You just show up, and we choose what’s right for your skin that day.

  4. Simple plan to take away
At the end, I talk you through what I’ve seen, what we’ve done and the 1–3 key things to focus on at home. Not a 10-step routine, just realistic, manageable steps that fit into your life.

Optional add-on: Hand Rejuvenation

If you feel like your hands are “giving the game away” more than your face, you can add a Hand Rejuvenation treatment onto your Skin Reset.

We focus on the backs of the hands – helping the skin look softer, smoother and more even, so they match the work we’re doing on your face.

Hand Rejuvenation add-on: available with any January Reset for a small additional fee (I’ll confirm this when you book).

So what?
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about starting the year with skin that feels calmer, clearer and more cared for – and a clear plan instead of guesswork.

January Body Reset – £60

The January Body Reset is for those little areas that quietly bother you when you catch yourself in the mirror or put certain clothes on – tummy, hips, thighs, bum or upper arms.

Again, you don’t need to choose the technology. You book the Body Reset, choose the area you want to focus on, and I decide which approach is safest and most effective for you.

What happens in your appointment

  1. Consultation & assessment
We talk about your goals, medical history and any worries you have (including nerves about being seen or undressed – which are very normal). I’ll explain exactly what to expect and how much you’ll need to uncover – I keep you as covered and comfortable as possible.

  2. Choose the right treatment together
Once I’ve seen the area and understood your goals, I’ll choose one of the following:

    • RF skin tightening – to help improve skin laxity and firmness.

    • Ultrasound fat dissolving – to target stubborn pockets of fat that don’t seem to shift.

    • A small Lemon Bottle area – an injectable fat-dissolving treatment for very specific little pockets.

Your £60 Body Reset includes this 30-minute targeted treatment using the most suitable option for you.

  3. Lemon Bottle upgrades – bigger areas, big savings

If we decide that Lemon Bottle is the right choice and you’d benefit from treating a larger area in one go, you can upgrade your included small area to:

    • Medium area – just +£10

    • Large area – just +£30

This gives you huge savings compared to booking multiple separate areas or sessions at full price.

We’ll talk this through clearly on the day so you know exactly what you’re getting and what it will cost – there are no surprises, and absolutely no pressure to upgrade.

  4. Aftercare & next steps
I’ll explain exactly what to do afterwards (and what to avoid) and, if it’s appropriate, we can discuss a follow-up plan so you know how to keep moving towards your goals.

Optional add-on: Hand Rejuvenation

You can also add the Hand Rejuvenation treatment to your Body Reset if your hands are one of your main confidence niggles. It’s a lovely little extra when you’re already in clinic.

So what?
Instead of googling different “fat dissolving” and “tightening” options and feeling more confused, you get one clear appointment where everything is assessed, chosen and explained for you – with the chance to get a much higher-value Lemon Bottle area for a fraction of the usual cost.

Why I’ve kept it this simple

Most of my clients are busy women juggling work, family, health and everything else. They don’t have the time or brain space to research every machine and peel out there.

The January Reset is my way of saying:

“Tell me what’s bothering you. I’ll assess, explain and choose the best option with you. You don’t have to figure this out alone.”

Two clear entry points:

  • Skin Reset – £60

  • Body Reset – £60

With optional, meaningful upgrades (larger Lemon Bottle areas and Hand Rejuvenation) if they genuinely benefit you.

Nothing hidden, nothing complicated.

What happens after your Reset?

Some clients are happy with a one-off January boost – a fresh start for skin or body and a clearer idea of what’s going on.

Others decide they’d like more ongoing support. If that’s you, we can chat about:

  • Building a longer-term treatment plan for your specific concerns

  • Or joining my Skin Club, where I look after your skin with you all year – adjusting things as seasons, hormones and life change, so you’re not constantly starting again.

There’s never any pressure. The Reset is a standalone package, and anything after that is completely your choice.

So what?
You’re not signing your life away – you’re simply giving yourself a safe, supported starting point and the option of more help if you want it.

Ready to book your January Reset?

If you’re reading this thinking, “Yes, that’s exactly what I need – something simple and kind to get me back on track,” here’s what to do:

  • Book a January Skin Reset – £60 if you want calmer, clearer, more glowy skin and a plan.

  • Book a January Body Reset – £60 if you’d love to target a specific area on your tummy, hips, thighs, bum or arms.

In the booking notes, you can pop:

  • whether you’re choosing Skin or Body,

  • the main concern you’d like to focus on,

  • and if you’re interested in Lemon Bottle upgrades or Hand Rejuvenation so I know what to talk you through.

I’ll take care of the rest.

You don’t need to be a different person next year.
You just deserve to feel a little more at home in your own skin – and I’d love to help you get there.

Last-Minute Glow For Christmas: What Actually Works (And What To Avoid)

If you’ve suddenly realised Christmas parties, work dos and family photos are very close… and your skin hasn’t got the memo, you’re not alone.

Every December I see the same little wave of panic:

  • “Is it too late to fix my skin before Christmas?”

  • “Should I book something big and hope for the best?”

  • “What if I react and make it worse?”

This blog is your calm, honest guide to what actually helps at the last minute – and what’s best left for the New Year.

No scare tactics, no miracle claims. Just sensible options that won’t leave you hiding from the camera.

What last-minute treatments can’t do

Let’s get this part out of the way first.

Some things simply need time:

  • Deeper acne and congestion

  • Long-standing pigmentation

  • Significant lines and skin laxity

  • Big body changes

These are absolutely treatable, but they respond best to a plan over weeks or months, not one rushed appointment the week before Christmas.

So what?
This doesn’t mean there’s no hope – it just means a single, last-minute treatment should be about calming, brightening and refreshing your skin, not promising a complete transformation overnight.

What I don’t recommend right before a big event

There are a few things I’m very cautious about in the days before Christmas parties or photos:

  • Strong peels you’ve never had before
These can cause redness, peeling and sensitivity. Great when planned… not great two days before seeing everyone you know.

  • Trying lots of new products at once
If your skin reacts, we won’t know what’s caused it – and there’s no time to let things settle.

  • Anything with significant downtime unless we’ve planned it
Swelling, heavy peeling or bruising are all normal in some treatments, but we want that to happen at the right time – not on party night.

So what?
When we’re this close to Christmas, the focus shifts to safety, comfort and glow, not pushing your skin to its absolute limit.

So what does work for a last-minute glow?

For this exact reason, I’ve created my Red Carpet Ready packages – treatments designed to give your skin a visible boost with minimal downtime and maximum reassurance.

You don’t need to know the ins and outs of every machine or peel.
You just tell me:

  • what’s bothering you most, and

  • when your events are,

…and I’ll match you to the package that makes the most sense for your skin and your diary.

My Red Carpet Ready packages

Think of these as pre-party confidence boosts, not punishment.

I’ll tailor exactly what we do on the day, but here’s how I tend to think about them:

1. Red Carpet Glow – for dull, tired skin

Perfect if you look in the mirror and just see flat.

  • Deep but gentle cleanse

  • Exfoliation to lift away dead skin cells

  • Hydration to plump and smooth

  • Finishing touches so makeup sits beautifully

You walk out with skin that looks fresher, brighter and more awake – without feeling stripped or tight.

So what?
This is ideal if you’re mainly bothered by a lack of glow and makeup not sitting the way it used to.

2. Red Carpet Calm – for redness and sensitivity

If your skin reacts to everything, goes red easily or feels hot and stingy, we go in a different direction:

  • Soothing, barrier-supporting products

  • Gentle cleansing and hydration

  • Calming techniques to reduce that “angry” look

  • Absolutely no harsh scrubbing or risky actives

The aim is to make your skin feel comfortable and settled, so you’re not worrying about flare-ups in the middle of your event.

So what?
This is for the client who’s nervous of treatments because their skin has “kicked off” before. It’s about trust and comfort first, glow second.

3. Red Carpet Smooth – for texture, fine lines & makeup issues

This is for when:

  • Makeup is sitting in fine lines

  • Skin looks uneven close-up

  • You feel like your face has lost a bit of its smoothness

Here, I’ll choose techniques that gently refine the surface of the skin while still being party-safe, then hydrate and plump so everything looks softer.

So what?
This is all about how your skin looks and feels in real life and in photos – smoother texture, softer lines, better makeup application.

What actually happens in a Red Carpet Ready appointment

Whichever package you book, the flow in clinic is very similar:

  1. We chat first

    • What are you worried about?

    • What products are you using?

    • When are your events?

    • Do you have any sensitivities or previous reactions?

  2. I assess your skin properly
I’ll look at your skin in good light, check how reactive it is and decide what it can comfortably handle right now.

  3. We choose the right Red Carpet Ready plan for you
Based on everything we’ve seen and talked about, I’ll tailor the treatment there and then – you don’t have to make lots of decisions.

  4. You leave with a clear aftercare plan
This includes what to do (and what to avoid) in the days after, so your skin looks its best when it matters most.

There’s no pressure, no judgement and no confusing jargon – just clear explanations and a focus on how you want to feel walking into your event.

Can I combine this with other treatments?

If you’ve already got treatments booked, or you’re interested in body work or more corrective skin plans, we can absolutely chat about that too.

Sometimes, a Red Carpet Ready appointment is a beautiful one-off treat for Christmas.

Other times, it becomes the starting point for a longer plan in the New Year – especially if you decide you’d like:

  • A more in-depth January Skin Reset or Body Reset, or

  • Ongoing support through my Skin Club, where I look after your skin with you all year.

You’re never locked into anything. We simply start where you are and decide together what makes sense.

So what?
You stay in control. My job is to guide and support, not to push you into anything you’re not ready for.

Who Red Carpet Ready is perfect for

This is ideal if you:

  • Have a Christmas party, photos or event coming up

  • Want your skin to look fresher, brighter and more polished

  • Don’t want downtime, peeling or anything too extreme

  • Feel overwhelmed by all the options and just want someone you trust to choose for you

  • Want to feel a bit more “put together” without looking like a different person

If that sounds like you, you’re exactly who I had in mind when I created these packages.

Ready for your own Red Carpet moment?

If you’re reading this thinking, “Yes, that’s me – I just want to feel better in my skin for Christmas,” here’s what to do next:

  • Book a Red Carpet Ready appointment with me

  • In the notes, you can pop your main concern (for example “dull and tired”, “redness” or “texture & lines”) and the date of your main event

  • I’ll take it from there – you simply show up, relax, and let me look after you

And if you love how supported you feel and want to keep that going into the New Year, we can also chat about whether my Skin Club or the January Reset packages might be a good next step.

You don’t need a dramatic transformation to deserve care.
Sometimes, you just need a little last-minute glow and someone in your corner who understands both your skin and your life.

Calm Christmas Skin: A Simple Plan For Stressed, Sensitive Faces

If your skin feels as frazzled as your diary right now, you’re not the only one.

December is full-on. There’s more sugar, more alcohol, more late nights, central heating, emotional load… and your skin has to deal with all of it.
For a lot of my clients, this is the month their face suddenly feels red, reactive, bumpy, tight or just “not right”, and it can really knock your confidence.

This blog is your calm, realistic plan to get your skin through Christmas without adding to your overwhelm. No ten-step routines, no guilt, no “perfect woman” energy – just small changes that actually help.

Why your skin goes “off” in December

A few things tend to happen all at once:

  • More sugar & alcohol – can trigger inflammation, puffiness and breakouts.

  • Late nights & stress – your skin repairs itself while you sleep, so less sleep = less repair time.

  • Central heating & cold air – strip moisture from the skin and weaken your barrier, which can show up as redness, sensitivity and flakiness.

  • Heavier makeup – more events usually means more foundation, longer wear time and sometimes not-so-thorough cleansing.

When the skin barrier gets stressed, it can’t protect you as well. Everything suddenly feels like it stings, products you used to love stop behaving, and your makeup just doesn’t sit the same.

So what?
Understanding why this happens is the first step to dropping the shame. Your skin isn’t misbehaving – it’s just overwhelmed, like you are.

5 small changes that make the biggest difference

You don’t need to overhaul everything. Start with these simple tweaks:

1. Swap to a gentler cleanser

If your face ever feels tight, squeaky or hot after cleansing, your cleanser is too harsh.
Choose something creamy or gel-based that leaves your skin feeling soft and comfortable, not “stripped”.

Aim: remove makeup and SPF without taking your skin barrier with it.

2. Double up on hydration

Most December skin I see is dehydrated, even if it’s oily.

Layering really helps:

  • A hydrating serum (think: light, watery, sinks in fast)

  • Followed by a moisturiser to lock it in

If you’re already using active ingredients like acids or retinol, it might be time to dial them down a bit and focus on comfort instead.

Aim: skin that feels plump and cushioned, not tight and papery.

3. Keep SPF in, even on grey days

I know – it’s dark, it’s cold, and SPF is the last thing on your mind. But UV and daylight are still there, and they still impact redness, pigmentation and ageing.

A lightweight SPF in the morning is usually enough. Think of it as a daily insurance policy for all the effort you’re putting into your skin.

Aim: protect the progress you’ve already made.

4. Pause the product experimenting

December is not the moment to test three new actives because TikTok said so.

If your skin is already a bit reactive:

  • Stick to what you know

  • Focus on cleansing, hydrating, moisturising and protecting

  • If you introduce anything new, do it one product at a time

Aim: calm, predictable skin instead of surprise flare-ups before a big event.

5. Make your evening cleanse non-negotiable

If you only do one thing this month, make it this.

Properly taking off the day – makeup, SPF, sweat, city life – is the foundation for everything else:

  • Massage cleanser in for at least 30–60 seconds

  • Use a soft cloth, not harsh wipes

  • Follow with your hydrating steps

Aim: give your skin a clean slate every night so it has a chance to repair while you sleep.

When homecare isn’t quite enough

There are times when, even with the best routine, your skin still doesn’t feel okay.

You might notice:

  • Constant redness that doesn’t settle

  • Breakouts that are painful or deep

  • Skin that feels tight, hot or stingy most days

  • Makeup suddenly looking patchy, chalky or “bumpy”

That’s usually your skin’s way of saying, “I need a bit more help now.”
It doesn’t mean you’ve failed, or that your skin is “bad”. It just means things have got a little out of balance and need a more targeted approach.

So what?
This is exactly the point where getting professional eyes on your skin can save you time, money and a lot of frustration.

How I help my clients create a calm-skin plan

When someone comes to see me in December with stressed, sensitive skin, we slow everything down.

Here’s what we do together:

  1. Talk first – what’s been going on with your health, hormones, stress, products, lifestyle and routine.

  2. Look properly at your skin – in good light, from different angles, and often with a skin scan so we can see below the surface.

  3. Simplify – we strip things back to what your skin actually needs right now, not what the internet says you “should” be using.

  4. Create a realistic plan – that fits around your life: your time, your budget, your energy levels.

A lot of my ladies are in my Skin Club, which simply means I’m looking after their skin all year – checking in, adjusting products as the seasons and stress levels change, and planning treatments together so they don’t have to think about it.

For them, December doesn’t feel quite so dramatic, because there’s already a plan and a bit of breathing space built in.

So what?
You don’t have to carry all the responsibility for your skin on your own. Having someone in your corner who understands your skin and your life takes a huge weight off.

If your skin feels as frazzled as you do…

If you’re reading this thinking, “Yep, that’s me – my skin is absolutely not loving December,” I’d love to help.

You can:

  • Book a consultation with me, where we’ll look at your skin properly, calm things down and map out a simple, realistic plan for the rest of winter.

  • And if you know you’d like more ongoing support, we can also chat about whether Skin Club might be a good fit for you, so you don’t have to figure everything out alone next year.

You don’t need to be “doing better” with your skin. You just need a clear, gentle plan that works with the life you actually have.

Your Pre-Christmas Glow Checklist

A simple guide to make sure your skin looks fresh, bright and party-ready — without any last-minute stress.

December comes around fast, doesn’t it?
Between school events, work dos, family plans and Christmas shopping, it’s so easy to suddenly realise…
“I haven’t sorted my skin!”

So I’ve put together a gentle, easy-to-follow checklist to help you get glowing in time for the festive season — no stress, no overwhelm, just simple steps that work.

1. Start With a Gentle Skin Reset

Before any Christmas glam, you want your skin to behave.
A gentle reset helps remove dullness, dryness and congestion so your makeup sits beautifully.

Your best options:
✔ Hydrofacial
✔ BioRePeel
✔ Glass Skin Facial

These treatments brighten and hydrate your skin with zero downtime, which is exactly what you need in December.

2. Boost Your Hydration

Cold weather, central heating and busy schedules all pull moisture from the skin.

Try:
✔ Hyaluronic acid
✔ A rich night cream
✔ Plenty of water
✔ A hydrating facial if you want a big boost

Hydrated skin = natural glow.

3. Book Your Main Glow Treatment Early

Treatments work in cycles, and your skin needs time to settle, smooth and brighten.

Ideal booking timeline:
🎄 Christmas Day – 3 weeks away
🥂 New Year’s Eve – 4 weeks away
❤️ Valentine’s Day – 11 weeks away

The earlier you book, the better your results (and the less stress you feel).

4. Add Your “Final Touch” Appointments

These are the treatments that make you feel polished and confident for parties and photos.

Consider:
✔ Brows & lashes
✔ Spray tan
✔ LED glow session
✔ Skin-brightening mask
✔ Hydrajelly add-on

These can be booked 24–48 hours before your event for the best result.

5. Don’t Forget Your Skin Calming Steps

With Christmas stress, late nights and lots of makeup, your skin can feel sensitive.

Try to:
✔ Avoid over-exfoliating
✔ Remove makeup properly (even when you’re tired!)
✔ Apply a hydrating mask once a week
✔ Keep your routine simple

Your skin will thank you.

6. Want a Personalised Glow Plan?

If you’re not sure which treatments you need or when to book them, I can help.
I offer a full Skin Analysis at The Glow Lab, so you get a clear, personal treatment plan that works for your skin and your timeline.

Send me a message at laura@glowlab.pro and I’ll map out your perfect pre-Christmas glow routine.

You deserve to feel confident, calm and glowing this festive season 💛
